Ye Snoozes Through Court Drama: Is Mr. Yeezy Dreaming of Malibu?

Catch this, fam: Ye, aka the artist formerly known as Kanye West, was on the verge of turning the court into his personal nap spot during his testimony last Friday in Los Angeles. As he faced the heat over his ex-Malibu mansion, the courtroom scene was nothing short of a snooze fest, with Ye catching Z’s, yawning like there’s no tomorrow, and looking ready for a nap.

Ye was in the hot seat, chatting about the architectural masterpiece he snagged for a cool $57 million in 2021. His responses? More 'I don’t recall' in monotone than anything substantial. Yawn city much?

The gallery got a dose of excitement as they whispered and exchanged glances, wondering if Ye was catching some shut-eye. Tony Saxon's lawyer, Ron Zambrano, even turned to a colleague and mouthed, 'Is he asleep?' in disbelief. Even the judge had to step in, trying to infuse some energy into the room by asking for a snappier pace during the afternoon session.

One moment had Ye so out of it that he asked for a question to be repeated – twice. 'Yes,' he finally responded, rubbing sleep from his eyes. Just Ye being Ye, right?

This all went down amid other drama in Ye’s world. Just over a month back, he took out a full-page Wall Street Journal ad, apologizing for his past antisemitic remarks and asking the world for patience as he 'finds his way home.' He’s not looking for sympathy, just a shot at redemption.

The trial itself is heating up in week two; it’s all about alleged mistreatment of Tony Saxon, who claims Ye made him do a demolition derby on the Malibu pad’s insides while posing as a security guard. Saxon, injured and claiming misclassification, is seeking justice with a capital J.

Meanwhile, Ye’s squad says Saxon was just an independent contractor on a renovation prep mission and went rogue on wrecking the place. They also dropped a bombshell about Saxon’s makeshift sleeping arrangements going public online.

In a flashback video shown in court, Ye didn’t deny his role as an employer, sticking to his narrative. And don’t call him Mr. – it’s just Ye, people!
