Ryan Coogler's 'Sinners' Rocks the NAACP Image Awards with Major Wins!

What a night at the 57th NAACP Image Awards! 'Sinners', directed by the brilliant Ryan Coogler, absolutely crushed it, taking home three awards during the live broadcast. This year's show was all the buzz as it aired across BET and CBS, with Deon Cole hosting like a boss!

The awards train kept rolling with Michael B. Jordan snagging Outstanding Actor for his killer performance in 'Sinners', and newcomer Miles Caton, just 20, exploding onto the scene with the Outstanding Breakthrough Performance award. Talk about making an entrance!

Over five unforgettable nights, 'Sinners' cleaned house with a total of 13 awards, including ones for its dope soundtrack. Meanwhile, 'Abbott Elementary' schooled everyone with five awards, while 'The Don Lemon Show' and Netflix’s 'Straw' tied with four awards each!

Michael B. Jordan was unstoppable, also nabbing Entertainer of the Year, outshining stars like Cynthia Erivo and Kendrick Lamar. Erivo was dazzling too, winning Outstanding Actress for her role in 'Wicked: For Good'.

A standout moment was Colman Domingo receiving the prestigious President’s Award, and the queens of hip-hop, Salt-N-Pepa and DJ Spinderella, being inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame. The event was a sentiment-filled tribute to icons with Samuel L. Jackson leading a heartfelt honor for the late Rev. Jesse Jackson.

Ryan Coogler continues to be a directing legend, with three outstanding motion pictures under his belt at the Image Awards. And shoutout to the late Angie Stone and D'Angelo, who were honored at the Creative Honors ceremony with a soul-stirring performance by Jane Handcock and BJ the Chicago Kid.

The virtual awards weren't any less exciting! Our girl Cardi B and the legendary Kendrick Lamar were the talk of the night, with Cardi claiming Outstanding Female Artist and Outstanding Album for 'Am I the Drama?'. Kendrick dropped jaws with 'Luther', winning Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album.

Rising star Monaleo kept the girl power flowing, winning Outstanding New Artist. This marks another year where female artists have dominated these wins, proving once again that ladies are running the show!
