Faith No More: Is It the End of an Era?
Hey there, music fans! If you're a '90s rock enthusiast, we've got some bittersweet news for you. Legendary alt-rockers Faith No More could very well be signing off, as frontman Mike Patton hints at moving on in a recent chat with Consequence of Sound.
Last time these rock icons performed was back in 2016 alongside Chuck Mosley. Mike Patton hasn't hit the stage with them since their epic Sol Invictus Tour in 2015. They had big plans to come back in 2020, but the world had other ideas. Enter: the pandemic. š·
They tried again for 2021, but those gigs got canceled too, as Mike faced down some mental health battles, including agoraphobia.
In a fresh interview, Patton opened up about the band's future, leaving fans wondering if an era might be ending. When asked if their 2016 shows felt like a farewell, Patton said, āI didnāt really think so at the time, but, yeah, maybe.ā
Could this be news to the rest of the band? Founding member Billy Gould admitted last year he wasnāt sure what lies ahead for FNM either. "I donāt know. I honestly donāt know," he told Chileās Radio Futuro.
Faith No More rocked our world with seven albums, including 2015ās epic Sol Invictus which climbed the charts to No. 15 on the Billboard 200.
While the future of Faith No More is still a mystery, Patton is busy making waves with his band Tomahawk, who are set to tour for the first time in 13 years with the Melvins. š
Patton doesnāt see his passion projects like Tomahawk and Mr. Bungle as just "side gigs". "Everything that Iāve done was of equal importance to me," says Patton.
