Lights, camera, action! London's Royal Festival Hall was buzzing with excitement as K-pop superstars EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, the voices behind the animated group HUNTR/X, rocked the stage at the 2026 BAFTA Awards with their viral hit 'Golden'. This was the first time the banger was performed live outside the U.S., and boy, did it deliver!
The energetic performance, complete with killer dance moves and a dynamic crew of backup dancers, brought a taste of K-pop flair to the prestigious awards ceremony, despite the Netflix movie 'Kpop Demon Hunters' not being in the running for any awards due to its non-qualifying theatrical release.
“Taking the stage at the EE BAFTA Film Awards feels like a dream come true for us. This 'golden' moment is something our younger selves could never have imagined,” the trio said when they announced their performance. They're all about spreading positive vibes, and with their infectious energy, it's mission accomplished!
ICYMI, 'Golden' already snagged a Golden Globe and a Critics’ Choice Award nod and is eyeing more glory with a Best Original Song nomination at the Oscars. The film trails the adventures of the fictional Korean girl group HUNTR/X—comprised of Rumi, Zoey, and Mira—who use their awesome tunes to save the world from sinister demons. How cool is that?
Back in August, EJAE took a moment with Rolling Stone to share what writing 'Golden' meant to her. “When I wrote it with Mark [Sonnenblick], I was in a tough spot. I even cried recording the demo because it hit home,” she revealed. “People are drawn to 'Golden' because we all need a little hope, especially in hard times.”
HUNTR/X is proving that music truly knows no bounds, uniting fans all over the world with beats that just won’t quit. What's next for the sensational trio? Only time (and maybe those Oscars!) will tell. Stay tuned, fans!
