Nick Jonas stole the spotlight on The Tonight Show with a jaw-dropping performance of his latest track, “Gut Punch.” Starting off with an emotionally-charged piano solo, Jonas drew the audience in before leaping up and turning up the energy as the chorus crashed in. By his side, a graceful ballerina and two mesmerising percussionist dancers turned the stage into an explosion of emotion and style!
Dropping on New Year’s Day, “Gut Punch” hit like a sonic boom and is the first taste of Jonas’s long-awaited solo album, Sunday Best, landing Feb. 6 through Republic Records. This marks his first solo adventure after a five-year pause, promising fresh, raw stories he's eager to share. “Think of it as a record of my life’s wild ride over these past few years,” Jonas said. The album promises to be packed with his new stories, some laid-back walks home in the city, and Jonas’s candid thoughts.
In 'Gut Punch,' Jonas gets real about those moments we all have - questioning if he’s doing life right. “I’m always super critical of myself. It’s not about how I look or fearing getting older. It’s deeper. Am I being the best version of myself? A thoughtful husband? A good dad?” he revealed. “As time flies, life can get real heavy. It’s key to remember there was once a younger you who just soaked up life without a care.”
This deep dive song was first unleashed live in November during the Jonas Brothers’ epic tour in Vegas and again at a flashy New Year’s Eve bash for Samsung TV Plus in Miami.
The Jonas Brothers kicked off their Jonas20: Greetings From Your Hometown mega tour with a rip-roaring, jam-packed concert on Aug. 10, 2025, at MetLife Stadium leaving fans screaming for more! Originally, the tour was set for 50 epic nights across cities like Toronto, Boston, Des Moines, Los Angeles, and Austin but they cranked it up, adding another 19 shows, making it a full rollercoaster ride till Dec. 22!
Before this, Jonas dropped Spaceman in 2021, an 11-track journey that followed up his 2016 hit album, Last Year Was Complicated. With 'Gut Punch' and Sunday Best taking center stage soon, Jonas is ready to remind everyone why he's a solo star in his own right!
