Remembering Tracy Zamot: Music Industry Legend and Publicist Extraordinaire

Today, we're celebrating the life of Tracy Zamot, a true powerhouse who made waves in the music industry for over 30 years. Known for her stellar work with big names like matchbox 20 and Lil Wayne, and for shaking things up at places like SiriusXM, Tracy was more than just a publicist – she was a legend!

Tracy's journey in music kicked off at Capitol Records after she graduated from the State University of New York at Albany in 1991. Her passion led her to Atlantic Records, where she made magic happen for bands like Rush, Phil Collins, and even legends like Led Zeppelin. Rising through the ranks, she didn't stop until she became the VP of publicity!

Tracy's resume reads like a who's who of the music world! From jamming out with Lenny Kravitz at Virgin EMI to taking charge at Universal Motown Records, her career was nothing short of epic. And don't forget her work at Pandora and SiriusXM, where she rocked corporate comms from 2015 to 2018!

But Tracy wasn't just about business; she was all about the music. Her colleague Laurie Jacobson from Jaybird Communications recalls, “We did an album club during COVID, and Tracy, being her awesome self, chose Public Enemy's It Takes A Nation of Millions. Just hearing that title brings so many memories!”

Family was essential to Tracy, and she's survived by her teenage daughter, Grace. She’s reunited with her beloved husband, John Loscalzo, in the great gig in the sky.

Tracy Zamot may have left us, but her creative spirit and love for music will continue to inspire us all. Rock on, Tracy!
