The year 2026 is already hitting the high notes with an explosive new collaboration! Yungblud, the British rock sensation, is shaking up the music scene with an epic remix of his track “Zombie,” now featuring the iconic sounds of The Smashing Pumpkins.
For the first time ever, the Pumpkins have joined forces with another artist, marking a legendary moment in their three-decade career. The original “Zombie,” from Yungblud’s fourth album, Idols, smashed streaming records with over 100 million listens worldwide and is up for best rock song at the 2026 Grammy Awards. Idols also snagged a nomination for best rock album!
This new version elevates the track into a darker, heavier realm while keeping its intense emotions intact. Yungblud kicks things off with familiar verses, and then BAM—Billy Corgan's powerful voice crashes in, twisting the song into a haunting anthem you can't get out of your head!
How did this dream collab happen? Yungblud spilled in an interview with Loudwire, revealing that while crafting “Zombie,” he drew inspiration from The Smashing Pumpkins’ Siamese Dream. “The sadness mixed with the aggression of Billy’s guitars was just electrifying,” Yungblud shared.
Originally, “Zombie” was even heavier, but Yungblud toned it down to avoid sounding too much like the Pumpkins. Finally, reaching out to Corgan made his ultimate remix fantasy a reality. Days later, Yungblud was in Chicago recording the track and shooting a killer music video with director Charlie Sarsfield. Both Yungblud and Corgan bring the heat in a visual that dropped alongside the song!
Talking about a big year—Yungblud isn't just stopping at collabs. Not only did Idols top the U.K. Albums Chart, but it also climbed to No. 15 on Billboard’s Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart. Yungblud also rocked into the Billboard 200 Top 10 with One More Time, an EP with Aerosmith, where his track
