Hold onto your headphones, folks! RØZ, the electrifying duo of Manolo Cabrera and Hugo Lara, smashed 2025 in a big way — and it was as epic as it gets! Think sold-out shows, festival madness, and tracks that went viral faster than you can say 'EDM'. Even now, they can hardly believe the hype. 'The reactions have been wild,' says Lara, still buzzing over a Zoom chat.
Guess what? They’ve made it big by stepping away from the typical pop lane. Instead, they’re blazing trails with electrifying house and EDM beats that'll get your heart racing. Clubs and charts are on fire with their bangers like 'Apaga La Luz' featuring Peso Pluma, a huge hit that zoomed up Mexico’s streaming charts.
Lara, who started off dreaming of being the next Vivaldi, swapped his violin for synths and movie soundtrack ambitions. Meanwhile, Cabrera was inspired by legendary EDM festival Tomorrowland's aftermovies: 'I was like, Whoa! You can make music at home,' he says, recalling his DJ dreams and early beats in Mexico City.
Their serendipitous meet-up: High school connections led to destiny, as Cabrera used to be classmates with Lara’s sister. During the pandemic, they vibed over each other’s music. Cabrera's experimental sounds drew Lara in, and vice-versa!
Their creative fusion? Unmatched! Combining Cabrera's EDM flair and Lara's cinematic vibes resulted in tracks that sound like nothing else. Lara recalls, 'I wanted to be like Hans Zimmer, Manolo wanted to be like Marshmello – and when our worlds collided, it created magic.'
The duo’s unique style has been a magnet for collaborations, attracting top Mexican acts like DannyLux and NSQK. RØZ isn’t just the sound of the future; they’re the architects of a new music era. Catch the wave and get ready to dance your heart out!
