Kabiru Bello is dropping a beat that’s shaking up the music world! After eight mind-blowing years at Warner Music, the famous head honcho of A&R for EMEA, Kabiru Bello, has announced he's moving on to the next thrilling chapter in his career.
In an internal note fired off on Friday (November 14), Bello expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying, “After eight epic years at Warner Music, I’ve decided to move on.” He shared his incredible journey with Warner Music, thanking everyone for their unwavering support and energy.
Kabiru, affectionately known as Bello, kicked off his Warner adventure back in 2017 in Sweden and quickly became the maestro of A&R magic. Just a year later, he founded Asylum in the Nordics—a record label that signed blazing talents like 1.Cuz, Black Moose, and Cherrie, exploding onto the global stage.
Fast forward to 2022, Bello took the reins as VP of Global A&R and Head of Asylum Records Nordics, eventually soaring to Head of A&R, EMEA, Warner Music. He reflected, “Building Asylum Nordics into an influential label and navigating the global A&R space has been an incredible ride.”
Simon Robson, the President of Warner Music's EMEA division, saluted Bello as an A&R juggernaut, praising his knack for merging artists from diverse backgrounds to create unforgettable music collaborations. “Bello truly raised the benchmark for cross-cultural collaborations in our industry,” he stated.
Bello started out as an artist himself and founded the buzzing 20/20 Records in Stockholm, a dynamic label and music hub. A creative visionary, Bello thanked Warner Music leadership for their support and the space to be entrepreneurial and independent.
He wrote, “The magic happens where music, technology, and human connection ignite. That's where I had the privilege to work with our talented A&R teams and artists to champion global collaborations.” Bello’s legacy is one of building bridges, championing never-before-seen collaborations, and lighting up the global music arena.
As Bello sets out on his new adventure, the music world eagerly awaits the waves he’ll make next. Here’s to Kabiru Bello—the maestro of beats, the connector of cultures, and the bringer of musical revolutions!
