Hold onto your hats, music fans! Legendary guitarist John Butler has just given Metallica a run for their money with an epic cover of 'Enter Sandman'—and it's all over Instagram!
Currently rocking stages across Europe and the U.K., Butler took some time to post a mind-blowing, bluesy rendition of Metallica’s megahit. Friends, this isn't your average cover—it's John Butlery magic on a unique Indian slide guitar, the Chaturangui.
With a cheeky caption that reads, “@metallica ‘Enter Sandman,’ but make it John Butlery,” Butler's Insta followers went wild! And here's the twist: This came shortly after Metallica gave Butler props by performing his track ‘Zebra’ during their Perth show. Imagine waking up in London to find Metallica did your song! Butler was understandably thrilled, posting, “RESPECT🙌🤘♥️” for the legendary rock band’s nod.
Metallica, on their M72 World Tour, have been giving special shoutouts with local covers in each city. When they hit Perth, fans were treated to a now-famous “doodle” segment, where Kirk Hammett and Rob Trujillo went full throttle on ‘Zebra.’
But that’s not all! Down under, Metallica mashed up Aussie classics INXS' 'Need You Tonight' and The Angels' 'Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again' in their Adelaide gig, giving fans nationwide chills.
In the meantime, John Butler continues to shine with his latest album, PRISM, as part of his Four Seasons series. He’s also on a roll with his tour after wowing crowds in Australia. Follow his journey through Europe—it’s one for the books!
Don't miss the continuation of Metallica's Aussie leg, with upcoming gigs in Brisbane and Sydney! It's been over a decade since they last rocked Australia with their electrifying Soundwave Festival appearance, so get ready!
