Hey music lovers, gather 'round! Kelsea Ballerini is back and ready to hit us right in the feels with her fresh track, 'I Sit in Parks'. Perfect for those moody, soul-searching days, this single is your new go-to for all things reflective and introspective.
Set to pave the way for her upcoming EP, 'Mount Pleasant', which drops November 14, Kelsea’s latest tune is a deep dive into the dreams and realities of life. It’s all about those park bench moments when you sit back, ponder life, and sometimes feel a million miles away from where you want to be. With lyrics that hit hard on ambition and reality, she paints a picture we all can relate to: “I sit in parks/ It breaks my heart ‘cause I see just how far I am/ From the things that I want...”
In her own words on Instagram, Kelsea describes it as a space where 'daydreaming and crash outs, ‘what a life’ and ‘what now?’ are all at play.' Sounds pretty relatable, right?
But wait, there's more to this story! Mount Pleasant isn’t just any EP title. It hints at a connection to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, home to the filming of Netflix’s Outer Banks. And just a while back, Kelsea and Outer Banks star Chase Stokes announced their split after being together for over two years, possibly influencing these new tracks.
Reflecting her summer of self-discovery and growth, Kelsea says, “Mount Pleasant is a collection of six songs I’ve written throughout the summer, marking a chapter of heavy self-examination, longing, and stepping further into who I am as a 32-year old woman.”
ICYMI, Kelsea's been on quite a ride, with her album 'Patterns' dropping last October and her first headlining arena tour kicking off in January! Oh, and did we mention she rocked her first season as a coach on The Voice? Plus, she brought the energy to CMA Fest in June, joining Noah Kahan on stage for a duet of his hit 'Stick Season'. Talk about keeping busy!
